Trip to Weengallon

We have just returned from our trip to Weengallon for the Annual Pink Ladies Day 2012. What an amazing day organised by the local kindy mums and their swag of incredible helpers. It is fabulous to see such community involvement and support. The theme for this year was Vintage. The effort that the ladies went to in following the theme was impressive. The 500 tickets for the day were sold out well in advance and there were 200 more on a waiting list. That’s what you call a successful day! The food was gourmet and absolutely delicious. The day commenced with yummy platters, followed by a buffet lunch featuring beef and turkey from local producers. However our favourites were the salads – Yum Oh! And the beetroot relish!!! The line up at the relish stall after the lunch was huge. We bought 2 bottles ourselves!!! As you can probably tell by now the whole Beadle family adore good food.

Anyway, back to our other love – design… We took some wonderful new items yet to be displayed in our showroom. Fabulous 1950’s restored cane; lovely blue and white china; a wonderful coffee table made by a Qld based craftsman using recycled parquetry from a Parisian ballroom; a beautiful blue and white upholstered timber armchair and some great limited edition prints. The hit of the day was definitely our raffle prize donated to the committee – a rug by Harlequin Fabrics, from their new rug collection. I think nearly everyone in attendance entered, but unfortunately only one lucky person can be the winner. The guest speaker this year was Raelene Boyle. Her down to earth style and honesty is incredibly refreshing in this day and age. It was a delight to hear her speak about her experiences. She is a great campaigner for the Breast Cancer Network Australia.

But to keep it tantalisingly short-ish – stay tuned for more on our Weengallon trip next week.

Cheers for now
