Top 3 sites for inspiration

At Beadles, we believe the more information you can absorb about how to create beautiful interiors, the better.

We still love to flip through home magazines and have the fortune of being able to attend trade shows and speak with industry to keep up with developments, but we’re finding more of our time is being spent online for inspiration.

With access to a world of beauty and innovation, we’re always surprised at even the smallest details that spark an idea. We were recently inspired by an image of under-stair storage someone had executed particularly well, with drawers stepping up in a home in Japan. In another, someone had installed draws under the kicks in a kitchen, an often wasted space that was well utilised.

Here’s our top 3 sites for inspiration:

  • Pinterest

Handy for not only home but any area of visual inspiration, Pinterest lets you search for ideas, save them to a pin board or virtual scrapbook, and share your ideas with others.

  • Houzz

Houzz is an interesting site with galleries of images for inspiration, articles with information and entertainment, as well as project how-to guides and discussion boards so you can bounce your ideas off the online community. See other people’s before and afters, even pick up some gardening tips.

  • Design Files

Online Australian design magazine The Design Files is a beautiful resource for inspiration on everything home and lifestyle – from features on Australian homes, to art and craft ideas, food and children’s rooms and fashion.

The site also features great interviews with some well known names in interior design and creative industries.
